Once the property sells at auction, pending debts are paid. The amount left over is your overage. In other words, if your home was foreclosed with $100,000 left on your mortgage and the house sold at auction for $150,000, then your overage is $50,000 minus pending judgments and liens.
You don’t pay anything. We assume financial responsibility for ongoing government audits, attorney fees, filing fees, legal opinion letters, and any unexpected processing fees. We use a standard Fee Agreement which states that we are only paid a percentage after we successfully recover your refund.
In the event that your claim is denied after learning that your overage has already defaulted to the government, we would take on all of the cost of investigating and filing the claim.
Every county varies. Most claims are processed within 60 to 120 days, however, some claims may take up to 6 months. It depends on pending liens and judgments on the property. We take care of all of the research and our team will keep you informed every-step-of-the-way.
Every year the US Government collects millions of dollars from overages. Over 14 billion dollars from foreclosures, tax overages, and mortgage overages are sitting in government accounts. Interest is accruing daily in these accounts.
Upon a signed agreement we are happy to share our investigative findings. Our preliminary searches include the property's original sale at auction. We confirm the timeframe left to claim your refund. Your money is forfeited to the state after your filing expiration date.
We are able to research personal data through attorneys, court records, private investigators, and skip-tracing tools. Securing your personal data is essential. We adhere to US Data Privacy Laws.
Comprehensive lists of overages are not readily available. The process of investigating overages has many twists and turns with very little guidance along the way. We recognize the limitations in time and resources needed to claim an overage.
